I have always seen something mythical in this painting.
Two mountains or buildings rise like ancient figures,
guarding an opening between them.
Like warriors standing guard. Or something not quite human.
Beyond them, the horizon glows beneath a strange green sky.
It feels like the entrance to another world.
I still want to know what is on the other side.
